Does anyone know anything about Carl Schmitt (The Concept of the Political, Political Theology)?
IMHO, The Hours was the best film qua film of the last year. But it ultimately glorifies autonomous escape from normative social relationships (i.e., into homosexuality and suicide). For a very good article arguing that the film and book are ultimately inconsistent with Woolf's modernist vision, see Carol Iannone's article in Commentary.
